About me

Amidst the changes brought about by the pandemic, I discovered in surfing my escape and refuge. While everyday life was disrupted, the waves offered me a unique connection and the opportunity to be alone with the ocean. As my friends drifted away due to COVID-19, surfing became my constant companion, a way to find freedom.

On this journey, I was fortunate to come across mentors who guided me in exploring the waves. Among them stands out Joey, the creator of "Nohoch Surf," a school located in Puerto Aventuras.

Joey not only became my friend and coach, but also the person who introduced me to the exciting world of surfing, alongside his coaches like Kevin, who supported me in my early steps.

Thanks to them, my connection with the waves became stronger and deeper.

These influences motivated me to embrace the world of surfing with passion.

 

When I finally made the decision to enter surfing competitions, it was Marcelo who shaped my approach and pushed me to a higher level. His wisdom and structured focus ignited a competitive passion in me that drives me to excel with every wave.

My values in life and in the water are simple yet profound. Embracing the present moment, training with intensity, radiating kindness, and enjoying the journey are the pillars that guide my path. Each wave is a reminder to immerse myself in the experience, connecting with the essence of the universe as I glide through the waters.

Rituals 

Surfing is not just a sport for me; It is an experience that requires a harmony between my body and mind.

 

Before facing the waves, I like to prepare my body, my mind and my spirit, this is what makes me stand out from my competition,

"They surf. I train."

I also practice Surfskate, a sport that doesn't depend on whether there are waves or not, which allows me to perfect movements and sequences even when I can't be in the water.

Physical Preparation:

  • Comprehensive Training: Specific strength and resistance exercises for surfing.

  • Mobility: Routine stretching and exercises to maintain flexibility.

  • Ice Bath: Muscle recovery and focus through cold therapy.

Mental Preparation:

  • Meditation: Practice meditation to calm the mind and focus.

  • Visualization: Imagine maneuvers and movements in each wave before entering the water.

  • Ritual on the Beach: Warm-up, stretching and visualization before surfing.

Being one with Nature:

  • Wave Watching: Examine the waves with respect and humility before entering the water, I like to imagine that I am a jaguar and stare at the waves.

  • Reverence to Nature: Connect with the ocean and its energy before surfing.
